About The Sounds
These new alert sounds were created by Trevor Rabin, recently the lead guitarist, composer, and producer for the progressive pop music group YES. Trevor Rabin composed YES’s number-one hit single, “Owner of a Lonely Heart.” He is active in contemporary music, writing music and producing projects for other musicians and filmmakers around the world.
Trevor Rabin created the alert sounds using a Macintosh-based music composition system. The sounds were recorded directly onto a hard disk, using an array of Macintosh Quadra 700/800 computers equipped with Mark of the Unicorn’s Digital Performer software.
Apple Computer is pleased to present these original sounds, which were created expressly for Power Macintosh computers.
